Black Hills Parks & Forests Association (BHPFA) is partnering with the Black Hills Area Community Foundation (BHACF) to establish an endowment fund.  The fund will support ongoing education programming.  BHPFA is able to receive matching funds from BHACF that will immediately increase the value of the fund

“This opportunity is a win-win for both organizations.  As a BHACF partner, we can apply for grant funding, be exposed to BHACF donors, and receive annual interest payouts.  All of these mechanisms will enhance BHPFA’s education mission,” says Executive Director Patty Ressler. “And BHPFA will receive a 25% match for any additional fund contributions through the end of 2021.”  Please contact Patty at 605-745-1264 or pressler@blackhillsparks.org if you would like to add to the education endowment.

BHPFA has assisted their public land partners in supporting wonder and exploration through education for over 75 years.  Establishing an education endowment fund will provide much needed resources, allowing BHPFA to expand current program offerings at partner locations and in Black Hills area communities.  Plans for 2022 include a Parks & Forests Ambassador program, where volunteers provide responsible recreation information to visitors. A Youth Art Contest, backyard birding, wildflower identification, and bird box and bat box building workshops are also being scheduled for the coming year. Anyone interested in volunteering or participating in programs can visit the website at www.blackhillsparks.org or call Andrea, 605-745-1163.
