Project Wild/Project Learning Tree

  • Location: Peter Norbeck Outdoor Learning Center
  • Cost: $85/participant
  • Academic Credit- Augustana College/$47 for one credit hour

For anyone wanting to incorporate the outdoors / nature into their lesson plans, using fun and engaging activities, these three programs are a MUST for any teacher and educator.  The weekend workshop is slated for a Friday evening, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning.   Academic credit will be available for those that desire additional teacher certification assistance.  To register please send an email to Bradley Block, Recreation Program Manager, at bradley.block@usda.gov or call (605) 673-9239.

Project Learning Tree Naturalist Training

  • Hosted by Black Hills Parks and Forests Association  & SD Master Naturalist
  • Date: October 15, 2022 10 am – 2pm
  • Location: Sawyer Memorial Trail near the Brownsville Fire Department (~10 miles south of Deadwood, SD)
  • Cost: FREE

This hands-on training is designed for naturalists who are doing community outreach programs and youth programming. SD Project Learning Tree Coordinator Marnie Lammle will guide participants through Project Learning Tree activities, and give “back pocket” tools to help participants develop their own programming. Training is free and participants will receive their own Project Learning Tree Curriculum guides.
