Teacher Workshop: Jewel Cave National Monument

Two opportunities! Please register by 11:59 on August 8, 2022

  1. Virtual: August 10th; 3-4:30 pm MST
  2. In-person at Jewel Cave National Monument: August 17; 12:30- 4pm MST (limited to 30 people)
Both workshops will share about the history of the site and what resources are available to educators (lesson plans, visits for classes – virtual/in-person). The in-person workshop will also include a cave tour (dress comfortably!) and will meet at the visitor center.

Project Wild/Project Learning Tree

For anyone wanting to incorporate the outdoors / nature into their lesson plans, using fun and engaging activities, these three programs are a MUST for any teacher and educator.  The weekend workshop is slated for a Friday evening, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning later this spring.  Academic credit will be available for those that desire additional teacher certification assistance.  If you would like to receive more information and/or be placed on a mailing list for more details, please send an email to Bradley Block, Recreation Program Manager, at bradley.block@usda.gov or call (605) 673-9239.
