What is the Wind Cave bison prairie magnet?
This is a rounded-square souvenir magnet with a scene from the surface of Wind Cave National Park. Three bison stand across the mixed-grass prairie. Low hills and a dark line of pines sit behind them, with blue sky overhead. “Wind Cave National Park” fills the lower part of the design.
Design Studio 88 makes the magnet under its Better Magnets name. The back label identifies the company, calls out the soft-touch matte finish, and states that the magnet is made in the United States. A metal rim runs around the edge, and the back has a broad magnetic surface.
This is the regular Wind Cave design. The matching America 250 edition used the same bison scene and adds the anniversary logo above it. This version keeps the focus on the park and can sit alongside magnets from other visits without an anniversary date on the front.
What does the artwork show?
The three bison represent the herd visitors can see on Wind Cave’s prairie roads. Wind Cave is known for the cave beneath the hills, but its above-ground landscape also protects mixed-grass prairie and ponderosa pine forest. The magnet depicts that part of a park visit: stopping to watch bison move through the open grassland.
The large park name makes it easy to read on a refrigerator or magnet board, while the small bison in the middle gives the scene a little more to notice up close.

Who is it for?
This is for someone whose Wind Cave visit included the prairie as well as the cave tour. It is also a small keepsake for a bison watcher or a collector who adds one magnet for each national park stop.
