What it is
This is the Smokey Bear design in the Black Hills and Nebraska Panhandle collectible token series, a small struck-metal token made for collecting and display.
About the design
The front shows the well-known face of Smokey Bear wearing his ranger hat with “Smokey” across the brim. The reverse spells out the wildfire-prevention message that has run alongside Smokey for generations: “Only You Can Prevent Wildfires.”
About Smokey Bear
Smokey Bear is the long-running U.S. wildfire-prevention symbol, fitting for a token set tied to the national forests of the Black Hills and Nebraska Panhandle.
How the tokens work
Each token carries the park or forest name on one side and a related image on the other. Collectors keep them in a token album with slotted pages, the same way pressed-penny and challenge-coin collections are stored. Tokens and albums are sold separately so you can build the set one site at a time.
