Moon Walk Season Continues with Black Hills National Forest

Explore the Hills by Moonlight in July, August, and September

Continue a beloved summer tradition more than 30 years in the making: the Moon Walk interpretive hike series. Held monthly from June through September on the Saturday closest to the full moon, each walk highlights a unique location in the Forest, guided by experts who bring the region’s rich natural and cultural stories to life.

Upcoming Dates

All Moon Walks begin at 7:00 p.m. and cover approximately 1–2 miles round trip. Participants should come prepared with sturdy hiking shoes, dress in layers, and bring water.
