Wind Cave Ambassadors: Faces on the Trail

Published On: September 15, 2025By

Seven Wind Cave Ambassadors. Sixty-one hikes. Over 1,000 visitors welcomed. This year, Wind Cave’s trails came alive with their presence.

From helping families at Prairie Vista to guiding hikers through unexpected bison encounters on Lookout Loop, Ambassadors make every mile safer and more memorable. Their presence supports enjoyable experiences and helps visitors connect with the park’s wild landscape.

What Wind Cave Ambassadors Do

These dedicated volunteers:

  • Provide a friendly presence on select trails.
  • Share trail access details, routes, and visitor tips.
  • Gather data on trail conditions and use.
  • Build awareness of trail rules, responsible recreation, and the importance of wildlife habitat.

By blending information with a welcoming spirit, Ambassadors help ensure that Wind Cave remains a place of wonder for all who visit.
