During the 1930s, the young men of the Civilian Conservation Corps reshaped Wind Cave with roads, trails, and buildings still in use today. Join Ranger Madi to learn how their work continues to affect every visit to the park.

About the Wind Cave evening programs: These free programs are presented by National Park Service rangers at the Elk Mountain Campground amphitheater in Wind Cave National Park. Each program begins at 9:00 pm and lasts about an hour. Programs are free, open to all ages, and no registration is required. Bring a blanket or camp chair and dress for cool prairie evenings. The amphitheater is at the Elk Mountain Campground, off US Highway 385 north of Hot Springs, South Dakota. Programs may be canceled in poor weather.
