Close out the summer with a lakeside campfire sing-along at Sheridan Lake. Sally Svenson, the Songbird of the Black Hills, plays her original songs and the Black Hills stories behind them as the evenings turn cool. Music starts at 7:00 p.m.

Getting there: Sheridan Lake South Campground is on Sheridan Lake along Highway 385 near Hill City, in the Mystic Ranger District.

About the Songbird campfire sing-alongs

The Songbird of the Black Hills is Sally Svenson, a local singer-songwriter whose original music grows out of her love for this region. At each campfire sing-along she shares the Black Hills stories behind her songs, with familiar tunes mixed in so everyone can join. Bring a camp chair or a blanket, and dress for cool mountain air after sunset. These are free, all-ages outdoor programs; check the forecast before you head out.

Each campfire sing-along is sponsored by the Black Hills Parks and Forests Association, a cooperative partner of the Forest, with the Black Hills National Forest Recreation Program.
