2-dimensional – Bacon is the name generally given to this type of drapery formation found in Jewel Cave National Monument. Calcium carbonate is deposited as drips of water flow down the wall. Impurities in the water deposited with the calcium carbonate result in a banding or “bacon” appearance. Magnet measures 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and comes with interpretive text.
