Natural History of the Black Hills & Badlands



Natural History of the Black Hills & Badlands is divided into four parts.  The first three focus on the Black Hills and were written by Dr. Sven Froiland, Emeritus Professor of Biology and Emeritous Director of the Center for Western Studies of Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD. The Badlands section was written by Dr. Ronald R. Weedon, Professor of Biology & Director of the Chadron State College Herbarium.  The first three Black Hills sections deal with (1) information of a geological nature, (2) history of human involvement, and (3) selected material of a biological nature.  The Badlands section also contains information on the Hot Springs Mammoth Site.
