Celebrate GivingTuesday on December 1, 2020, with Black Hills Parks & Forests Association (BHPFA)!

BHPFA has a rich history of supporting wonder and exploration as a non-profit partner of the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service for 75 years. During that time period, we have generated over $2 million in vital aid-funding that directly supports interpretive programs, educational activities, and research efforts to protect and preserve the cultural and natural resources of the Black Hills and Nebraska.

2020 has been a challenging year for small nonprofits, and for the first time in their 75 year history, BHPFA has not generated the revenue expected and experienced a shortage in funding for our public land partners. Through our GivingTuesday campaign, BHPFA is looking to raise $13,000 to bridge the gap of approved aid. The funding BHPFA provides fills significant federal funding shortfalls and enables dedicated public land stewards to extend educational and recreational opportunities to more people than they otherwise would be able to.

“Now more than ever, our partner parks, forests, grasslands, and monuments are places for the public to safely recreate, learn about the world around us, and find a sense of well-being,” says BHPFA Executive Director Patty Ressler.  “Your gift on GivingTuesday will assure our partners have the means to continue providing these lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
