SUMMARY:Bark the Beaver Reading & Pizza | Custer HQ
DESCRIPTION:Bark the Beaver is a real kind of Black Hills story. A beaver doing her work along Rapid Creek picks up two bright yellow stripes from a road-painting truck\, then a ranger moves her up to Willow Creek on the edge of the Black Elk Wilderness\, where she rebuilds a whole wetland and brings back the trout\, the deer\, and the wildflowers. Now she has her own picture book\, and we are reading it out loud\, with pizza\, for the whole family. \nJoin us at our Custer headquarters for a read-aloud of Bark the Beaver Helps the Black Hills Thrive\, written by Rapid City author and historian Eric Zimmer and illustrated by Ellen Devine\, who is visiting from Alaska for the launch weekend. The book and the matching 12-inch Bark plush will be on hand. Bring your copy to have it signed\, or pick one up at the event. \nFree and open to everyone\, kids especially. Bark is an 80th anniversary project from the Black Hills Parks and Forests Association and the Black Hills Area Community Foundation\, and proceeds support environmental education across the Black Hills.

SUMMARY:Bark the Beaver Reading & Pizza | Outdoor Campus West
DESCRIPTION:Meet Bark the Beaver in Rapid City. Bark is a real kind of Black Hills hero: a beaver who\, after a road-painting truck leaves her with two yellow stripes\, gets relocated up Willow Creek and rebuilds a wetland that brings the whole creek back to life\, trout\, deer\, wildflowers\, and all. Her story is now a picture book\, and we are reading it out loud\, with pizza\, at the Outdoor Campus West. \nIt is a fitting spot\, surrounded by the kind of habitat Bark works to restore. Join us for a family read-aloud of Bark the Beaver Helps the Black Hills Thrive\, written by Rapid City author Eric Zimmer and illustrated by Ellen Devine\, in town from Alaska for the launch weekend. The book and the matching 12-inch recycled-bottle plush will be available. Bring a copy to have it signed\, or grab one there. \nFree and open to everyone. Bark is an 80th anniversary project from the Black Hills Parks and Forests Association and the Black Hills Area Community Foundation\, and proceeds support environmental education across the Black Hills.
