Wind Cave National Park

  • BHPFA park store and visitor center are OPEN daily from 8:00 am-4:30 pm
  • Face masks are required in the visitor center and on cave tours
  • Cave tours have resumed. Limited spots available, tour tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis the day of the tour.
  • All hiking trails are OPEN
  • Hwy 87 is closed due to construction on the historic bridge
  • Picnic area and vault toilets are OPEN
  • Elk Mountain Campground is OPEN, limited sites are available.


Jewel Cave National Monument

  • The visitor center and BHPFA store will go to off-season hours beginning Sunday, September 26th
  • The monument will be CLOSED on Sundays, Mondays, & Tuesdays and OPEN Wednesday-Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Face masks are required in the visitor center and on cave tours
  • Hiking trails are OPEN
  • A modified Discovery Tour will be offered into October,  tour tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day of the tour


Scotts Bluff National Monument

  • Grounds, Trails and Picnic Area are OPEN daily sunrise to sunset
  • Visitor Center is OPEN daily from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Summit Road is OPEN daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, conditions permitting. All vehicles must be off of the road by 4:00 pm.


Agate Fossil Beds National Monument

  • The visitor center is OPEN from 9:00am to 5:0pm
  • The Cook Collection is OPEN
  • Hiking trails are OPEN from sunrise to sunset


Black Hills National Forest


Nebraska National Forests & Grasslands

  • All district offices are closed to the public
  • For campground information visit: https://www.recreation.gov/
  • Hudson-Meng Education and Research Center is closed for the 2020-2021 season. Hiking trails are OPEN


The National Grassland Visitor Center

  • Closed September 7, 2021 for the season
